The ICC World Twenty20 – 2012 will be the fourth ICC World Twenty20 competition which is the international championship of Twenty20 Cricket. It will be held in Sri Lanka. This tournament is organized by the governing body of cricket in the world, International Cricket Council (ICC). This tournament will be the first World Twenty20 which will be held in an Asian country.
ICC World Twenty20 – 2012 cricket tournament is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka between September 18 and October 7, 2012. Twelve(12) competitors will participate in this tournament. They are- Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2. Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 are selected by means of Global qualification system for the World Twenty20 held for the ICC Associate and Affiliate members. All teams are divided in 4 groups.
